In this second book, the protagonists attend elephant class and have more fun than ever before. Pado even develops a perfect trunk!
Later, in the monkey class, the fun continues as everyone enjoys their new ears and tails. However, to the surprise of his classmates, Pado still keeps his elephant trunk. Some children tell him that he cannot be both a mon- key and an elephant at the same time, creating a dilemma for Pado.
Despite the doubts and criticism, Pado feels joyful while playing in the schoolyard with his monkey ears and elephant trunk. This raises ques- tions among some classmates, who ask the teacher whether Pado must choose just one animal.
But the teacher tells them about a preanimal from the past who also felt an affinity for more than one animal: he liked ducks and beavers. The oth- er children complained about his preference for two animals, but in the end he was allowed to be as he wished. As he followed his heart, that preanimal became a beautiful platypus.
