Beatriz Giménez de Ory was born in Madrid in 1972. She is graduated in Hispanic Philology from the UAM and got a master's degree in Advanced Studies in Literature from the UNIR. She currently works as a Language and Literature teacher in a secondary school in Madrid. She is the author of several collections of poems and children's novels, which have earned her awards such as the National Award for Children's and Young Adult Literature in 2021, the Fundación Cuatrogatos Award, the New York Big Book Award in 2021 and the Colibrí Gold Medal from IBBY in Chile in 2019, among others.
